Rik Scott Steve (guitarist) contacted Loud-Stuff about releasing this single in aid of the Grenfell Tower victims. Unlike that insincere pop gash that Cowell's music parade released, this is a very real, very emotionally driven performance.
Glad to be supporting Axegrinder with their campaign.

about

GRENFELL BENEFIT SINGLE

We never envisioned re-recording new versions of our old material, both believing the original tracks held a certain charm, the exuberance of youth complete with bum notes, cracked voices and duff drumming . However as we watched the tragedy of Grenfell unfold we both knew we wanted to do something, however small and however insignificant that gesture might be.
So this is the result, a low and dirty new version of the title track from our demo 30 years ago. The lyrics reflect how we feel about those responsible for the murder of the poor forgotten people of Grenfell. All proceeds will go to a community based group fighting for the justice the families so richly deserve.

WITH ANGER IN OUR HEARTS WE'VE AXES TO GRIND

lyrics

GRNID THE ENEMY 2017

ANOTHER NEW DAY
BUT THE SUN ISN'T SHINING
THERE'S A CRACK IN THE SKY
WHERE THE BLACK SMOKES' RISING
WIPE THE TEARS FROM OUR EYES
AND WE'LL SEE WHAT WE FIND
WITH ANGER IN OUR HEARTS
WE'VE AXES TO GRIND

GRIND.
THE ENEMY

WE WALK AROUND THIS RUIN
THAT WAS ONCE YOUR HOME
HEAR THE CRIES FOR THE MISSING
WHO ARE NEVER COMING HOME
AUSTERITY AND CHARITY
WIPE THE BLOOD FROM YOUR CASH
YOUR THE MOTHER OF THE DEAD
WHO LAY IN THE ASH

GRIND.
THE ENEMY

about

Axegrinder London, UK

."29 years after the release of the cult album Rise of The Serpent Men, Axegrinder are back to unleash a further barrage of their unique sound onto the punk/crust genre.

Never afraid to experiment and explore new sounds. Some will like it and others will loathe it but the band were always about polarising opinion so...business as usual."
